We write for schoolkids, teens, and grown-ups alike—and your pet is welcome to read along. Or at least to stretch out across the keyboard while you do.

Poppi & Miicah: our cat crew
Behind Fido & Fluffy are people with a big love for animals—and two cats who are pretty sure the whole thing should revolve around them. Allow us to introduce:
Poppi
- Breed: Hard to say (fox cat?)
- Favorite food: “Knusper” (and mice…)
- Special skill: Stomping
I’m a fluffy cat with a lovely reddish-brown coat, a white bib, white paws that look like little socks, and deep amber eyes that glow in the sun. I’m loyal and loving and like nothing better than spoiling my humans with cuddles—unless there’s a little outdoor adventure waiting in the fresh air. And heaven help anything that sparkles or blinks: I switch straight into hunting mode.
Miicah
- Special skill: Finding the warmest lap
I’m a proud, big tomcat with a magnificent long coat in shimmering shades of orange and brown—agile, full of life, and a master of lounging around. Going outside? No thanks—I’m an indoor cat through and through and prefer to watch the world from the safety of home. I’m happiest when someone gives me a good, long scratch, because however big and impressive I may look, deep down I’m a total sweetheart, always on the lookout for a warm lap.
